ERP Gateway Module for CI Precision’s MES Solution

CI Precision has released Version 2 of its ERP Gateway module, designed to support secure integration between the Ci-DMS Manufacturing Execution System (MES) and enterprise resource planning (ERP) platforms used in regulated pharmaceutical manufacturing environments.

The ERP Gateway module enables structured, application-independent data exchange using a web services architecture. This approach supports reliable communication between systems while reducing the need for bespoke software development, helping manufacturers simplify implementation and reduce validation complexity.

Designed specifically for pharmaceutical manufacturing, Ci-DMS MES supports weigh and dispense, manufacturing, and packaging operations across global production environments. The ERP Gateway module extends this functionality by enabling controlled data exchange between ERP and MES layers, including:

• Resource and material information
• Stock and inventory updates
• Material movement transactions
• Process order data
• Material consumption records
• Process order status updates

The module also enables secure access to Ci-DMS data for external reporting, production analysis, and enterprise-level visibility.

Reducing Integration Complexity and Validation Effort

The Ci-DMS ERP Gateway is a configurable, commercial-off-the-shelf (COTS) application developed in line with GAMP 5 principles. Its configurable architecture and standards-based web services approach remove the need for extensive custom coding in most implementations.

This reduces:

• Project implementation time
• Validation burden
• Long-term maintenance complexity
• Upgrade risk associated with bespoke integrations

The ERP Gateway module is already deployed across pharmaceutical manufacturing sites in the UK, Europe, and North America.

Although SAP is the most common ERP environment used alongside Ci-DMS, the web services architecture is platform-independent, allowing integration with other ERP systems without requiring core software modification.
